Holiday Camps and Half Term Camps – the smart way for kids to spend their holiday breaks

We prepare new content, materials and exciting projects for every camp. Even if your child has joined us for previous camps they will always learn new things and cover new subjects. We are now running our Half Term and Holiday camps ONLINE (if you are interested in face to face camp, please let us know).

All classes are run by our usual teachers so children may well be familiar with the teachers they see online. Our teachers all have enhanced DBS checks and are experts in their subject, usually with a PhD or Masters in Mathematics, Programming or Robotics.

You can register for one of our camps by filling in the form here.

Autumn Half Term, October 2020

26-30 October 2020: ONLINE Senior Maths and Programming Camp, ‘Discoveries that Changed the World ’, for ages 7-16

Discoveries that Changed the World Camp will see pupils learn about amazing developments and inventions in programming and science while ‘Eureka’ moments will be explored in the history of maths. Pupils will study the practical maths and programming that developed from these ideas.

Christmas Holidays, December 2020

14-18 December 2020: ONLINE Senior Maths and Programming Camp, ‘The Power of Algorithms - What they are and How they work ’, for ages 7-16

This camp is all about how in programming, maths and beyond, algorithms can be used to sequence instructions with the goal of solving a specific problem, performing a certain action, or a computation. For more details click here.

The format for senior online camp is as follows:

  • class sizes are six pupils or fewer of similar age and ability

  • all classes are interactive, using Zoom, with pupils solving problems with the teacher and with each other

The format for junior online camp is as follows:

  • each day runs for three hours with three 45 minute classes and strategic breaks from the screen between them

  • class sizes are four or five pupils of similar age and ability

  • all classes are interactive, using Zoom, with pupils solving problems with the teacher and with each other

  • class times are: 9.00-9.45, 10.10-10.55 and 11.20-12.05

  • Fees are £345 for five days, Monday to Friday

Places are limited, please register your interest HERE.

To take part you must have a PC or laptop (Windows or Mac OS) with a camera and mic and a stable internet connection.

Our capacity for the camp is only 35 pupils because classes are even smaller than usual. This contrasts with the 150 pupils we would usually teach across several camps. We will therefore have to give priority to pupils booking for five days. While we would hope to also offer daily classes in just maths, programming, robotics or chess as a 5-day course for £125, this may not be possible if all camp places are taken.

If you are booking a senior camp for fewer than five days we would encourage you to start on Monday.
